KaYa OS: A Happily Ever After!
A luxurious apartment was located
in the beautiful and happening part of New Your City, United States. The
apartment had a beautiful view of the George Washington Bridge as the lights of
the very much awake city enlightened the French windows of the living room, it
was a dream apartment, white in color it contained anything and everything
anyone could have ever asked for. A posh living room with a home theatre system
and all the modern furniture, a humble and sophisticated kitchen and three
extremely large bedrooms each customized with elegance and class. While two
rooms were set aside to be guest rooms, the third room belonged to the very
much in love couple who were fast asleep right now cuddled into each other’s
arms.
Kabir and Ananya had been married
for almost a year and half now. Both of them had gained popularity when they
began working as a team, cracking all difficult cases and after refusing many
offers they had finally received their dream offer to work in Al Jazeera, Kabir
had received the position of an editor in chief and Ananya received the
position of a senior reporter who reported directly to Kabir. After Ananya’s
mother had accepted their relationship they both promised to get married once
they achieved their career goal and as soon as they signed a contract with Al
Jazeera they tied the knot. Kabir insisted Ananya’s mom to shift with them to
US but she had refused laughing that what would she do there and here she
wanted to be in the house where Ananya’s dad’s memories remained, they had to
agree reluctantly but they took a promise that Ananya’s mother and Armaan would
come to US every year to spend the holidays with them and Anita had gladly
agreed.
After tying the knot, Kabir and
Ananya migrated to USA and began working for Al Jazeera and soon they had
received this beautiful luxurious apartment and they were practically living
their dream and the many photo frames hung on the walls of the living room with
beautiful clicks of Kabir and Ananya laughing, Kabir having picked up Ananya on
his back, Anita, Armaan with Kabir and Ananya spending their first anniversary
together, the entire family playing in snow celebrating Christmas together,
wedding pictures and a lot more photos present were the evidence of all the
lovely moments of Kaya’s togetherness and beautiful life.
Right now it was 3.00am in the
morning and Kabir and Ananya were fast asleep, suddenly Ananya’s phone rang
much to her annoyance, she reached and turned on the light yellowish slightly
dim table lamp, then reached the other side table on Kabir’s side leaning on
him. She was annoyed for a moment only but she knew who exactly called her at
that hour; Ananya smiled and answered the phone in half sleepy state.
“Good morning Ma…”she said in her
husky sleepy voice adjusting her pillow and settling to a half sitting
position, “Kaisi ho aap? Lunch karlia aapne?”
“Main theek hoon beta… Aur haan
bas abhi khaya… tera mann-pasand kadhi chawal banaya tha aaj…” she replied
smiling.
“Sach! Yeh toh cheating hai ma…
Aap mere bina meri favorite dishes kha rahi ho…” Ananya cutely complained.
“Areh beta… main wahan aaungi ya
tum log yahan aana toh sab teri favorite dishes banaungi pakka!” she promised.
Ananya giggled, “Theek hai!” she
replied while looking at Kabir who stirred in his sleep, looking as gorgeous as
mankind could in his plain crisp white t-shirt, she tried to get up and go to
the living room so that she does not disturb his sleep, only to be pulled back
by him as he snuggled closer. She ruffled his hair and he smiled eyes still
closed.
“Kabir kahan hai?” Ananya heard
her mom ask.
“So rahein hai…” she replied
smiling as she traced his hairline lightly. She heard her mom gasp, “Dhat teri
ki! Main phir bhool gayi… wahan toh…”
“Subah ke teen baje hain…” Ananya
completed her mom’s sentence, smiling at her mom’s forgetfulness.
If anyone would get a call this
late at night, they would be shell shocked and so was Ananya but one and half
year ago when her mom had called for the first time at around 3:00am, both
Ananya and Kabir had jumped out of bed panicking as they answered the call
thinking it was an emergency and something had happened to someone in India
only to realize that Anita had called casually as it was daytime in India, the
9 hours’ time difference was oblivious to her, however, Kabir had assured her
that she could call anytime that she felt like talking to Ananya, even in the
middle of the night. Ever since, it had become a routine, once a week Anita
would call Ananya at 3:00am and both Kabir and Ananya were gladly accustomed to
that routine. Ananya was more than happy to have such an understanding husband
who knew she missed her mother a lot, so he had asked her never to hesitate to
call her mother or receiving her call as he didn’t mind, Ananya’s peace of mind
and contentment was more important than his sleep for him.
“Good morning Ma…” Kabir said in
an extremely sleepy voice as he began waking up slowly.
Anita nodded her head, giving
herself a facepalm, “I'm sorry beta. Meri wajah se tumhari neend kharaab ho
gayi…Aur Ananya agar Kabir so raha that oh beta tu wahan se uth kar chali jati…
dekh ab use disturb kardia na humne…”she scolded Ananya, worriedly.
Ananya giggled as Kabir pulled
her even closer when her mom said she should have gotten up and left the room,
“Ma main toh jaa hi rahi thi par inhone jane hi nahi diya….neend mein bhi mujhe
khud se door nahi hone dete…”she told her mother, earning a wide eyed amazed
expression from Kabir that she had actually told her mom the truth.
Embarrassed Kabir told her mom,
“Nahi ma wo… actually… abhi zyada thand pad rahi hai na isilye…” while Ananya
laughed at his lame excuse and Anita blushed at her kids romance! As a
punishment for telling her mother the truth Kabir took Ananya’s lips in his for
a brief moment kissing her passionately making her moan loudly, “Kya hua beta?”
Anita asked concerned, and Kabir gave Ananya a “Take that! Now tell the truth!”
look to her in victory while Ananya looked angrily at him slapping his shoulder
lightly, “Kuch nahi ma!” she quickly replied, “Machar ne kaat liya…” she showed
her tongue to Kabir, while he looked shocked and pretended to be annoyed,
making Ananya pull his cheeks.
By now both of them were fully
awake and lay comfortably as Ananya continued speaking, “Ronnie kaisa hai ma?”
Ananya asked entwining her hand with Kabir’s. “Wo bahot acha hai beta…” she
replied gladly. “Aur Richa, aur Rinnie?” she asked as Kabir kissed her palm.
Her mother replied, “Richa bhi bilkul theek hai. Rinnie ab doh saal ki hogayi
hai aur aur zyada cute ho gayi hai… Ronnie aur Richa ki duniya hai wo… Dono
uske bina reh hi nahi sakte…” her mother laughed, “Acha hua tha ki dono ne
shaadi karke humare pados mein apartment
le liya tha… unki wajah se mera bhi waqt khushi khushi guzar jata hai…” Ananya
listened to her mother with a smile as Kabir came slightly on top of her and
buried his face in the crook of her neck, placing small kisses on her collar bone.
Closing her eyes with pleasure, Ananya buried her hand in the sea of his hair.
Kabir is such a tease, she thought, although she loved every bit of his
attention. This man never failed to surprise her, everytime that her mother
called instead of trying to sleep he would wake up and romance her or simply
sit with her while she talked. He never left any chance to show his affection
for her, be it physically or emotionally. Ananya smiled as Kabir’s hand
travelled under her white top and he caressed her stomach while nuzzling her
neck. He was equally attracted to her as much as he was the first time her met
her. He was a hopeless lover, when it came to Ananya he could give up anything
just to love her and be loved back by her.
“Rinnie ne baat karna shuru kia?”
Ananya asked happily, she was really fond of Ronnie and Richa’s daughter
Rinnie.
They had gotten married two years
ago and purchased an apartment right next to Ananya’s house. In just a few
weeks, Richa had given the good news that she was pregnant. Six months after
their marriage, Kabir and Ananya tied the knot and had shifted to US but Kabir
had made sure that he let Ananya come and support Richa in her delivery moth
and he too had come one week before to morally support Ronnie who kept having
nervous breakdowns on how he will be a good father. Eventually, Richa had
realized all the goodness in Kabir and had apologized to Kabir and Ananya for
being so typical and judgmental about Kabir earlier, she had finally admitted
that a man being a divorcee does not mean he is a womanizer or selfish. Richa
finally delivered a beautiful baby girl whom they named from the mixture of
their name “Ri” from Richa and “nnie” from Ronnie. Apart from the parents one
more person was happier and that was Ananya’s mother because now she could
babysit Rinnie and that way she would spend her time happily and without
constantly missing Ananya.
“Haan haan… bahut smart hai…
kamsekam chaar nursery rhymes seekh liye hai usne…” Anita gladly informed her,
“Aur jisse pehle tu pooche, Armaan bhi bilkul theek hai, college mein bhi mann
lagaane laga hai…”
“Yeh toh bahut achi baat hai…
mera chota bhai ab dheere dheere badaa hone laga hai…” Ananya smiled. Kabir continued
his sweet assault kissing her eyes, nose, cheeks, lips and neck giving her a
hard time trying to concentrate on the conversation, Ananya’s mother continued
talking about Afrmaan when finally Ananya gave up and pushed Kabir, she had had
enough, she came on top of him and kissed him eagerly with full passion, he was
being such a tease and finally she had to have things the way she wanted and
that was with full on passion, his sweet torture was too much for her to bear. After
a while they both lay panting and Ananya’s attention went back to her
conversation. Her mom had finished telling her all about how annoying the other
neighboring woman was who never even said hello properly having such a big ego
and one day she suddenly turned sweet and began talking to her nicely because
that woman needed one cup sugar, her mom’s cute banter made Ananya giggle.
Suddenly Anita’s voice changed
from joyfulness to concern, “Beta….” She paused for a while, “… tu khush toh
hai na?” she asked hesitantly.
“Ma!” Ananya said now annoyed,
this was one question that she hated but her mother would ask her every single
time she called, “Main bahot bahot bahot zyada khush hoon… Kabir mujhe khud se
zyada pyaar karte hain…”
Kabir looked up now, he knew that
she had asked “the” question again, this time he decided he would interrupt, he
wanted to assure her mother that he would love her daughter always, no matter
what. He silently gestured Ananya to put the phone on speaker, and he heard
Anita say, “Pata hai beta. Par ma hoon na… Tum dono saath ho na? Khush ho na
saath?” she asked unaware that Kabir too heard her question and this time Kabir
replied.
“Ma…” Kabir bearly whispered,
Ananya could feel how deeply hurt he was, while Anita’s visible gasp displayed
how shocked she was that Kabir had heard her, Kabir continued, “Ma mujhe pata
hai… Aapko apni beti ki fikr hai..main aapko galat nahi samjhunga… apko yeh dar
hai ki jis aadmi ki pehli shaadi nahi chal payi…uski kya doosri shaadi kaamyaab
hogi… aapko dar hai ki kahin mera pyaar Ananya ke liye kam na ho jaye… wo mere
saath anjaan desh mein akele hai..mere bharose hai…” he paused for a while, he
was trying his best not to sound broken, Ananya cupped his face gesturing that
he didn’t have to justify himself but he just kissed her hand and spoke again,
“Magar main…mere liye… Ananya meri duniya hai…usi pe meri zindagi shuru hoti
hai aur usi pe khatam…” he breathed hard and smiled, “Aur pata hai…aapne ise
itne achi parvarish di hai ki yeh mujhpar aankh band karke vishwas karti
hai…meri saari khaamiyon ko samajhti hai aur mujhe sahi raah dikhati hai… mein
Ananya ke bina nahi reh sakta… uske bina meri zindagi khaali hai…main aapse
vaada karta hoon main Ananya se zindagi bhar isi tarah beintehaa pyaar
karunga…waada…pakka waada…”he said, his voice breaking as a sob escaped his
lips, Ananya quickly wrapped her arms around him and kissed his hair, while he
sobbed for a while burying his face in her chest, Ananya too cried with him and
on the phone they could hear that Anita was trying to suppress her sniffles.
Ananya told her mom, “Ma aap
roiye mat… pata hai.. Kabir khamakhaa meri taarif kar rahe hain… balki sach toh
yeh hai ki main chahe jitna bhi inke sar pe chadh jaun, inpe gussa karun, inhe
pareshaan karun yeh kabhi mujhse pyaar karna band nahi karte… meri har nadaani
pe mujhe pyaar se bitha kar samjhate hain… hare k subah mujhe itne pyaar bhare
nazron se dekhte hain jaise pehli baar dekha tha… inki aankhon mein who pyaar
kam hi nahi hua…ulta aur zyada badhta jar aha hai…” she gulped hard, drinking
her cries, “Mere liye ye apna sab kuch daaw par laga sakte hain..aur pata hai..
inpe itni saari ladkiyan marti hain par who mujhse jalti hai…isliye nahi ki
main inki patni hoon par isliye kyuki inki nazar mujhse hat-thi hi nahi…Mujhe
duniya mein shaayad hi itna pyaar koi de pata…” Kabir looked at Ananya all
touched by her beautiful words.
Ananya continued, “Ek naakamyab
rishte ki wajah se aap inke aaj tak ke saare achi baton ko kaise bhool jaati ho
ma? Humesha divorce mein aadmi ki galati nahi hoti… Aur aap batao kya guarantee
hai ki agar aap meri shaadi kisi single ladke se karti toh who mujhe pyaar
karta aur satata nahi? Koi aur hasi khushi se mere saare nakhre sehta? Mujhe khana
banana nahi aata par aaj tak kabhi Kabir ne mujhe na iss baat ko lekar daanta
aur na taana maara…roz mujhe apni haathon se khana bana kar khilaatein hain…”
‘I'm sorry beta… I'm so…sorry…”
Anita cried, “Pata nahi mujhe kya ho jata hai…tu sach keh rahi hai… Kabir se
zyada pyaar karne wala tujhe koi nahi milta… main vaada karti hoon ki yeh
aakhri baar tha jab maine Kabir par shaq kiya… mujhe maaf kardena beta…”she
apologized, finally her sobs subsiding.
“Please ma aap sorry mat boliye…”
Kabir told her earnestly, “Aap badi hai.. aap ka haq hai…”
“Nahi beta…” Anita had a kind of
new trust in her heart that came across through her voice, “Mujhe ya kisi aur
ko koi haq nahi hai tumhare upar ungli uthane ka…yeh humare society ki soch hai
jo hume badalni chahiye…tum kitna kuch sehte aaye ho…” she told him lovingly.
Finally, they had ended the
insecurity of Ananya’s mother. After a few minutes all that could be heard was
laughter as Kabir and Ananya told Anita about their hilarious news reporting
events while they were in India, how Kabir had become Bhadresh Kutty for Ananya
and Anita was even more pleased to hear how he has been protecting her all
along, even by manipulating Manav and going for the baaghi interview with her.
Opening up these stories in front of Anita had allowed her to understand the
unconditional love Kabir has for Ananya. At around 6:00am when they finally
hung up, Kabir stretched and Ananya yawned, both looked at each other and
cuddled together.
“I love you!” both ended up
saying together and burst out laughing, as they slowly went back to sleep,
secure in each other’s arms, feeling the warmth of love in the cold and foggy
morning, in their beautiful home full of love, as the sun began peeking out a
bit from the clouds hovering over the George Washington bridge, shining its
light through the French windows of their living room, blessing the beautiful
couple sleeping peacefully, snuggled together.
