Kabir looked up from his file and saw Ananya working on her computer and jolting down some notes. She looked fully engrossed in her work when Ronnie came and sat beside her and for a few moments she was laughing with him and Richa, she looked so cute while laughing, he thought. He tried reading the file again, only to be occupied by her thoughts again. He was not at fault, who could concentrate on work after such a passionate encounter on their first date last night that is why he was confused why she was not looking at him and blushing from time to time.

He looked up at her again and there she was busy with her work again, the lines on her forehead told him she was working seriously and was figuring something out. He sighed, she showed no signs that she too was still hazed by their first intimate moments yesterday. Barely 10 minutes had passed and he looked at her again, hoping she would be smiling at him atleast if not blushing but no! She was on a phone-call and her actions told him that she was talking to Tinu.

Finally he gave up, if she was ignoring him then he would make her drop the act and admit that she too was remembering their moments from yesterday, just like him. He picked up his phone and told the peon, “Send Ms. Kashyap in my cabin. Right Now!”

A few moments later she walked in with a notepad and pen, “Yes sir!”

“Goodmorning!” he said in a very husky voice and she flashed him a formal smile, “Morning sir. Koi nayi lead?” she asked with a polite yet formal tone. He looked at her for a second, was she even serious? She wants to talk about a lead when he was in a freaking romantic mood?

Nevertheless, he got up from his seat and walked slowly to the front of his desk and leaned on it slightly, “Yes Ms Kashyap. This lead is about a guy who falls in love with a beautiful girl, he really cannot get her off her mind.” He read her face while speaking, for the first few moments she was listening intently and then she looked at him confused, “Sir, ismein lead kya hai? This sound like an entertainment story to me, I think Baby here handles that, I handle only politics and crime.”

He looked a bit shocked that she still wasn’t getting his hint but he wasn’t going to give up, “Then the guy tells the girl that he loves her and she loves him too. They go on their first date and…” while continuing he starts walking towards her, “They kiss and it starts raining. The girl gets drenched and the guy is spell bound seeing her. He goes really close to her…” Kabir slides the back of his fingers from her elbow to her wrists softly.

Ananya instantly gets alarmed and takes one step back, “Sir! Physical interaction with employees is not allowed.” She stated plainly.

He looked at her with a “You must be joking!” expression! “Ananya, why are you behaving like this? Are you still angry because I scolded you in front of everyone but I thought I had apologized for that already?”

“Why would I be angry sir?” she still looked skeptical.

She is unbelievable!

“Oh please Ananya! Don’t pretend you don’t remember what happened between us yesterday. I refuse to believe that you are not in the dreamland of our love, when here I haven’t been able to think about anything apart from you since morning! You are not leaving my mind even for a second!”

He saw her blush for a second and shake her head, “Sir agar sach mein koi lead nahi hai then may I leave?” she asked politely.

She left his cabin and he was furious! Why was she doing this to him? Why was she being so ignorant? Why was she punishing him? With unanswered questions and a frustrated mind he tried to concentrate on his work. At 1.30 his phone beeped, it was a message from her.

“Lunch hour hai. Bahar chale for lunch?” his screen displayed.

“My place?” he replied. He had to talk to her and he couldn’t in a restaurant.

“Sure J .” Came a quick reply.

They reached his place with some food which they ordered for takeaway as they wouldn’t have time to cook and eat. His mind was clouded, she behaved so normally with him right now.

Kabir went to the kitchen to get plates when he felt her hug him from behind. Placing her head on his back, Ananya sighed, “Kal was magical! It was the best moment of my life. Thank you!” Kabir smiled for a moment then remembered her ignorant behavior in the office, “Oh, so your memory is back now?” he asked sarcastically.

“What had happened to my memory?” she asked confused, as he turned around to face Ananya.

He crossed his arms to his chest, “Toh wo office mein kya drama tha?”

She smiled again and shook her head, “Aap hi ne toh kal kaha than a ki aap chahatein hai ki office mein humara rishta ekdum professional ho haina? Kal humne ek doosre se apne expectations bataye aur mein apni taraf se koshish kar rahi hoon, to fulfill your expectaions because…” she uncrossed his arms and placed them around her waist and she placed her hands on his chest, “I want us to work. Aur uske liye hume mehnat karni hogi to balance everything. And if it makes you feel better I will tell you, mere liye bilkul aasan nahi hai kaam pe concentrate karna kyunki jaise aank uthati hoon aapko dekhti hoon. Aur kal raat se mein srf humare moments ke bare mein hi soch kar pagal ho rahi hoon. Par jab maine aathe hi aaj subah aapko dekha toh main khud ko samjhaya ki agar main focus karungi toh aap khush rahenge aur aap ki khushi mere liye bahut matter karta hai!” she lightly kissed his lower lip, “isiliye jaise lunch hour hua maine first thing aap ko message kiya to spend time with my boyfriend because I can’t romance my editor-in-chief but I can romance my boyfriend na?” she asked him cutely.

He looked astonished, impressed and slightly disappointed at the same time.

“Toh you are not angry with me?” in response she kissed from the corner of his lips to the other placing butterfly kisses on his lips, “Does this answer your question?”

Kabir nodded then pouted, “Par Ananya…” he said pulling her closer, “Kya ab hum office mein thora bahut chup chup ke romance nahi kar sakte? I miss our moments.”

She stood on her toes to reach his forehead and kissed it, “Theek hai. We can. Aur main promise karti hoon ki I won’t let it go overboard and mix our professional and personal life.”Kabir looked at Ananya with eyes full of love, “You are allowing me to romance you despite me scolding you before about this and cherry on the cake you are promising to keep in the boundaries?”

She laughed, “wo isliye kyunki aap toh shuru se limit mein the na. you always made sure we stole some moments of love in the office despite the work but I was the one who kept messing up and mixed stuff. Isiliye yahan par I need to improve aur kisi bhi relationship ko successful karne ke liye dono ko apni galati ka ehsaas hona aur maafi maang kar khud ko improve karna bahot important hai. Ab khana khayein warna saara luch yahin nikal jayega!” Ananya told him taking the plates to the table.

Kabir smiled and sat down, just two weeks ago they had been sitting right at the same spot really quiet with Anurag doing all the talking, they were so awkward back then, nervous of the proximity and stealing glances and today here she was smiling at him coaxing him cutely to open his mouth while she fed him. They enjoyed their lunch and headed back to KKN, as Ananya got off the car she walked to Kabir’s side, “Aaj I will get the proof that Malvika was behind that chip.”

“Kaise?” he asked confused.

“Bharosa hai?” she asked him smiling and Kabir simply pecked her smiling lips, “Khud se bhi zyada!”

Ananya smiled and teased him, “Ek din mein kitna baar kiss karenge?” and Kabir held her waist with his right hand and pulled her closer, “Meri galati nahi hai…” he said tracing her lips with his left hand, “Main kitna bhi control karne ki koshish karun. Tumhare lips mujhe attract kar hi lete hein and  lose the battle of control and give in. your lips are really tempting.” She gasped at his reply and ran off, showing him her tongue like a kid.

Ananya gathered her friends and asked them to listen carefully, “Sab samajh gaye na plan ko?” and everyone agreed. Sunny ran up to Malvika’s cabin and placed five spy cameras from all angles, he came out and gave a thumbs up. Ronnie came out of the PCR and gave a thumbs up as he walked to Ananya and Richa. It was a green signal that Malvika was coming out of the PCR and they should be prepared. As soon as Malvika walked out, Ronnie spoke, “Yaar Ananya. Wo aaj tere paas jo phone aaya than a underworld se uss chip ko unke hawaale karne ke liye. Humein police ko inform karna chahiye!”

“Par police toh khud bhi chip dhund rahi hai na?” Richa replied.

Ananya pretended to be scared, “ Mujhe life mein first time darr lag raha hai. Jab mein sting ke liye gayi thi tab unhone mujhpe gun point kardia tha par I escaped somehow. Iss baar nahi bachungi…” she said to Richa and Ronnie.

“Tujhe kisi pe shaq hai toh uska naam bata de! Keh de tere paas chip nahi hai aur jispe shaq hai uska naam bata de…” Ronnie suggested.

“Kisko police ko ya underworld ko?”Richa asked.

“Dono ko…” said Ronnie.

“Matlab?” the girls asked pretending to be confused while Malvika listened intently.

“Areh matlab, police ko bata chip yahan office mein hi misplace hui hai toh who yahan aakar search karenge. Aur underworld ko suspect ka naam bata de taaki who uska…” Ronnie whistled as he gestured cutting neck “Kaam tamaam” action to both.

“Great Idea!” Ananya beamed.

Malvika almost ran to her cabin and took out the chip, “Iss chip ko kya chura liya merit oh puri life barbaad ho gayi hai! Police aur underworld dono se panga ho jayega! Iss chip ko hi jala deti hoon! Yahan jalaungi toh sab ko shaq hoga, ghar jaakar karungi!” saying that she hastly put it in her bag.

Sunny who was hiding behind the sofa, sent a message to Ananya, “Confess kardia bhutni ne, ab jaldi se neeche bulao taaki main camera’s nikaal sakun!”

Ananya sent the peon to call Malvika and say that Ronnie needs her immediately in the PCR. Malvika went to the PCR and sunny took all the camera’s out and went to Ananya and they all waited for Malvika to go back to her cabin. As she walked out, Ronnie gestured them to come in the PCR and they checked the footage giving a Hi-5 to each other!

Ananya knocked on Khalid’s door, “Sir may I come in?”

“Yes Ananya.” He said smiling, wearing his glasses.

“Sir that day you supported me although the reputation of your channel had been risked. Today sir I have the proof of my innocence and I also promise I won’t let you down in the future ever again! Can you please come with me downstairs and call Kabir sir and Malvika as well!”

“Yeah sure!” he beamed at her.

Everyone gathered and Ananya switched on the TV, it had Malvika with the chip in her hand confessing her crime! Malvika was left stumped! Ananya stood there noticing Kabir’s reactions to the video, he was angry at first then he was looking down smiling shaking his head! Then he looked at her and smiled, the smile which told her that he was proud of her!

Khalid was impressed with Ananya and he walked to Malvika, “How dare you! You think running this channel is a joke? Stealing a chip like a school girl out of jealousy! What are you in kindergarten? And you ask others to grow up! Sick Malvika! You are absolutely sick!” he shouted.

“Khalid I don’t owe anybody any explanations! This is my channel!” Malvika shouted in ignorance.

Kabir walked up to Malvika, “So Malvika you can keep your channel and I will walk out of it. Find a new Editor-in-chief!” he threatened.

“Not just him! All of us will quit and go together and create our own channel. You can keep this sick channel of yours!” Khalid added almost shouting.

Malvika was at loss of words, “Okay! Okay! I will do anything to cover up for this mistake…”

“Three things!” Kabir roared!

“Number three! Apologize to Ms Kashyap in front of everyone and keep apologizing till she forgives you. And when she forgives you, apologize to every single staff personally for playing games in the office and putting blame on others!”

“Number two…”

“But Kabir…” Malvika tried to interrupt.

“I'm not done yet!” he warned, shouting at her.

“Number two. Make Ms Kashyap a permanent reporter here and stop looking for her replacement!”

“Number one! Remove Clause 6A from everyone’s contract! And make everyone sign a new one without any such clause about their personal life!”

“But…”

“You have exactly thirty seconds to get started…”

“But…”

“Twenty nine seconds…”

“Kab…”

“Twenty eight sec..onds!”

Malvika gulped and called her lawyer, “Mr. Pradhaan please come immediately I need to get some changes done in the contract of my employees…” then she walked up to Ananya, “I am sorry Ananya!” she said ignorantly.

“Kya kaha? Shayad maine theek se suna nahi…”Ananya replied.

“I am sorry…”

“What?”

“I AM SORRY! I AM SORRY! I AM SORRY!” she shouted as she burst into tears.

“It’s okay…. ma’am… I think you just need to GROW UP!” Ananya said politely and walked away leaving Malvika apologizing to everyone else.

Kabir went to his office and gathered his stuff, he walked out and gave Khalid a knowing look and Khalid nodded understanding that he had to make sure Malvika did the contract amendment. He smiled at Ananya and she gathered her stuff, thanking and hugging her friends she left with Kabir while Ronnie, Richa, Sunny, Khalid and the others enjoyed Malvika’s state.
