KaYa OS: KhushNuma!
Kabir sat on the sofa, really restless. His
hands folded tightly as if he was praying, tears literally running down his
eyes, he was shivering with pain. No. Not physical pain but the mental pain.
His eyes were swollen as he sobbed uncontrollably and at last he screamed,
“Ananya! I love you! Please don’t leave me…” he started choking while crying,
“Please don’t…” he coughed choking on his words, “don…don’t…don’t lea…ve
me…please…” he sobbed as memories of what had happened that had brought their
beautiful world down crashing…
Everyone was sitting in the conference room
when Ananya had suddenly received a message and her happy face had changed, she
looked extremely shocked! Kabir was not able to concentrate once Ananya walked
out of the conference room without saying anything, she never does that, he
thought. He couldn’t take it anymore and walked out behind her.
“Kya hua Ananya?” Kabir asked.
She turned around with tears in her eyes,
“Papa ke E-mail ID se mujhe mail aaya hai…” she said, tears forming in her
eyes. “Shayad papa zinda hai…”
Her last words shook him. No. This was not
possible, his mind told him. “Ananya shayad koi mazaak kar raha hai tumhare
saath…” he tried to reason with her.
“Main Reporter bani hi papa ka sach jaanne ke
liye thi…” she said wiping her tears, looking determined. And that
determination scared Kabir, a lot.
That night Ananya replied to the email,
“Papa…
Hum aap ko bahot miss karte hain…
Aap kahan ho?”
Ananya had goosebumps when she saw there was
a reply again from that ID,
“Ananya beta
Main aap se bahot door nahi hoon…
Par phasa hua hoon…
Yahan se nikal nahi sakta…
Mujhe bachalo!”
Ananya looked shocked at the reply! He was
alive! He was a captive somewhere! Her father was alive! Tears of joy escaped
her eyes as she dialed Kabir’s number with shaking hands, “Hello Kabir! Aap
mujhe abhi mil sakte hain?... Theek hai main aa rahi hoon aap ke ghar” she said
excitedly kept the phone, not giving him a chance to interrogate about what
happened.
She reached his house 40 minutes later, and
rang the doorell. As soon as Kabir opened the door, she jumped into a hug.
“Kabir papa zinda hai!! Papa zinda hai!!”
“Ananya maine tumhe kaha than a ki koi
tumhare saath game khel raha hai…” he said trying to act calm.
“Nahi Kabir! Wo papa hi the!! Yeh dekho maine
unhe mail kiya aur unhone mujhe reply bhi kiya…” she said almost jumping, “Papa
ne kaha ki who kahin phase hue hain…hum unhein bachana hai!!” she said eagerly.
Kabir was stunned hearing this. “ Yeh nahi ho
sakta Ananya!”
“Arre yeh dekhiya na aap message!!” she said
trying to make him read the message.
“Maine kaha na nahin ho sakta…” he said
almost losing his calm.
“Arre kyun nahi ho sakta… yeh reply toh…”
“KYUNKI TUMHARE PAPA MAR CHUKE HAIN!!” he
screamed at her holding her tightly by the shoulders, “Mere aankhon ke saamne
unka murder hua tha! Mere haathon mein unhone dam toda tha!!” Kabir shouted.
He left her shoulders abruptly, realizing
what he had just said. He took two steps back, still in shock of what he had
revealed as Ananya stood rooted at the spot not being able to believe what she
had just heard. Her dad was murdered? Kabir knew this? Yet he remained quiet?
He lied to her? He let her father’s killer live freely?
She took two steps back fumbling with her
steps then turned back and ran out of the house. Kabir was in too much of a
shock to go after her right then.
The next morning he went to office and tried
to search for Ananya, he found out from Ronnie that she had taken a week’s
leave. He returned to his dejected, as he sat down on his chair in frustration,
something shiny caught his attention. It was Ananya engagement ring! He picked
up and a lone tear escaped his eye. She had broken their engagement. He should
have told her the truth earlier; he had called this on himself. If only he did
not fear losing her then he could have gathered enough courage to tell her the
truth but he always felt the truth would take her away from him and that is
exactly what happened.
For the next five days, Kabir did not go to
the office. Instead he sat the entire day in front of her house, hoping she
would step out but no, she didn’t. He saw Armaan and Anita but they looked at
him dejected and walked away, the hurt in their eyes all so evident. He went
home disappointed and called Tarini to his house.
“Tumne kaha tha use nahi bataane ke liye…” he
said broken.
She kept her hand on his shoulder, “Mujhe isi
baat ko toh dar tha! Main nahi chahti thi ki tum Ananya ko kho do…” Tarini said
worriedly.
“Kya karun main ab… wo ghar se bahar hi nahi
aa rahi…”
“Mujhe toh laga tha ki tum bahut ziddi ho… darwaza bana hai knock karne ke liye… uske ghar ka aur dil ka…dono darwaze pe knock karo…jo hua Mr. Kashyap ke saath usme tumhari koi galati nahi thi… tumne jab sach bataya toh adhura kyun bataya? Pura kyun nahin Kabir?” she asked him angry that he didn’t tell her the entire truth when he decided to tell the truth.
“Wo situation hi aisi thi…” he replied
extremely upset with himself for being so numb.
“Jao baath karo usse…samjhao use Kabir ki
sach mein hua kya tha!” Tarini told him, “Phir sab theek ho jayega…” she said
re-assuring him.
Kabir knocked on the door of the Kashyaps’
house. He was standing in the porch where he had so many memories with Ananya.
their romance, their cute conversations, their kisses, their eye-locks and much
more. He sighed, thinking about their moments. The door opened and Armaan came
out.
“Armaan, Ananya hai?” Kabir asked politely.
Armaan did not react to him and walked in
again, “Didi, aap se Kabir milna chahta hai…” he shouted which made Anita come
near the entrance too. Then Kabir saw the love of his life walking to him. He
shook with fear at the sight. She walked like she was lifeless, totally numb,
her hair disheveled and her face had no expressions at all. Kabir never in his
dreams had thought that his fighter Ananya would ever look like this. A totally
broken and defeated girl walked to him and stood at the door.
“Kahiye,” she said abruptly. Her eyes were on
him but she was lost in some other world, she looked almost mechanical.
“Ananya tumne mujhse sagai kyun tod di? Min
tumse bahut pyaar karta hoon…” he said trying to bring her back to life.
“Theek hai sagai phir karlungi,” came another
abrupt and lost reply. She was not fighting back at all and this was breaking
his heart inside.
“Ananya tum aisa kyun kar rahi ho ek baar
pura sach toh sunlo!” he shouted helplessly.
“Ji sun rahi hoon.” She replied again not
fighting him, yet he knew she was still lost and not really listening to him.
“Ananya mera pyaar tumhare liye saccha hai.
Bilkul sachha! Main tumse shaadi karna chahta hun aur tum bahot saari khushi
dena chahta hoon.. Zindagi bhar tumhari har baat maanunga..tum jo kahogi wo
karunga..jaise kahogi waise rahunga..” he pleaded.
“Aap mujhse shaadi karna chahte hain…” she
said still looking through him, “Ma shaadi ki tayari kardijiye…” she said
numbly.
“Ananya!” Kabir whispered in disbelief, she
had become so lifeless and it was his entire fault. She was feeling betrayed by
him, the man she trusted more than her life. She had supported him in every
aspect of his life and always fulfilled all her promises. She had fought the
world for him but he had hidden such a big truth from her in return! Tears
rolled down his cheeks as he ran away from there not being able to see the
sight of Ananya in such a state for even one more second.
He came back to present where he was sitting
on the couch after returning from Ananya’s house. He had been crying
uncontrollably but now he looked determined, really determined. He wiped his
tears, thinking, “Maine Ananya ko bahot dard diya hai, ab aur nahin!”
He took out a tape recorder and spoke, he
spoke his heart out and recorded the entire truth of Sudhir Kashyap case in
that recorder and how much he loved Ananya and how she meant then world to him.
By the time he completed the recording he was in trance of the pain that he had
caused Ananya, the hurt in his heart was making him mechanical as well but in a
different way. He was not as brave as Ananya.
One hour later Tarini walked to the doorstep
of Kabir and rang the doorbell. When he didn’t open the door, she tried to
knock but to her surprise the door was open so she went in and called out his
name, “Kabir… Kahan ho tum? Kabir?” but no one answered. She checked the entire
house but she didn’t find him anywhere. Coming to the living room she found
that his car keys were lying on the table along his wallet and phone. “Where
could have Kabir gone without his car, money, phone and license?” thought Tarini
panicking and her eyes fell on the tape recorder on the sofa. She played it and
her eyes widened in shock. The way Kabir had spoken; she knew he was gone,
never to return.
“Shit!” Tarini said panicking, “Kabir ko
Ananya ke alawa koi nahi rok sakta..mujhe khud Ananya se baat karni hogi…lagta
hai Ananya ne uski baat nahi suni…” saying this she ran out and quickly went to
Ananya’s house.
After ringing the bell twice Anita opened the
door.
“Aunty main Tarini hoon aur mere paas waqt
bahot kam hai! Please mujhe ek baar Ananya se baat karne deejiye…” looking at
the trouble on her face, Anita let her in. Ananya was sitting on the couch,
totally lost in some world.
“Ananya! Ananya!” Tarini screamed running to
her.
“Haan boliye.” She said not listening to
anything in real.
“Ananya please hosh mein aao humare paas waqt
bahot kam hai!! Kabir apna wallet, keys, paise, phone aur ghar sab kuch chor ke
chala gaya hai…aur chor gaya hai yeh tape recorder jismein tumhare papa ki
sachai hai…” saying that Tarini played the recorder.
“Ananya…
Agar tum yeh sun rahi ho toh main tumse kuch
kehna chahta hoon..
Tumhare papa bahot ache the…wo tumse bahot
pyaar karte the..
Jis din main unse aakhri baar milne gaya
tha..main jab uss pahaar par pahuncha meine dekha ki doh aadmi unhe maar rahe
hain.. main daud kar gaya unki madad karne toh un aadmiyon ne mujhe bhi
maara…bahot maara aur ek aadmi ne tumhare papa ke peeth mein chura maar diya..
Phir wo wahan se bhaag gaye… main khud zakhmi
tha isiliye unhein akele nahi utha sakta tha..main aur logon ko bulane ke liye
jana chahta tha ki tumhare papa ne mera haath pakad kar rokliya aur mujhse kaha
ki Kabir ab bahot der ho gayi hai, main ab nahin bachunga lekin yeh log bahot
khatrnak hai, maine sach ke liye apni jaan toh dedi lekin main nahin chahta ki
inka saaya bhi mere chote se parivaar par pade… yeh log bahot taakatwar hai…yeh
mere family ko bhi meri tarah maar denge…please yeh kissa yahin pe khatam
kardo…
Yahi aakhri shabd kehke unhone meri haathon
mein dam tod diya… par main unhein insaaf dilana chahta tha..main bhaagte hue
Khurana ke paas gaya use lane…taaki Mr> Kashyap ki body mile toh
investigation ho un logon pe…lekin jab hum wahan pahunche tab unki body gaayab
thi…un logon ne body ko hi gayab kardia tha…
Main phir bhi chup nahin baitha.. mujhe
threat calls aane lage..
Main phir bhi chup nahi baitha… Ek din unn
logon ne mere bhaanje Monu ko kidnap karne ki dhamki di… Monu aur Anurag saath
khel rahe the… jab wo log aaye…tab Anurag ne Monu ko bachane ke liye unpar
attack kiya aur unhone Anurag ko maara…bahot maara…ki who phir kabhi chal na
paya…
Inn sab ka zimedaar mujhe tehraate hue bhabi
aur bhaiya Monu ko lekar chale gaye aur mujhe kasam di ki main phir kabhi iss
case par kaam nahi karunga warna agli baar wo kisiko sach mein maar denge…
Anurag ko dekh kar main darr gaya aur mujhe
majburan yeh case chorna pada…sabke safety ke liye…
Jab mujhe pata chala ki tum Mr. Kashyap ki
sachai dhoond rahi ho tab maine kaha ki unhone suicide kiya hai kyunki main
unse kiya hua waada nibha raha tha, tumhe in sab se door rakh kar…
Main tumse bahut pyaar karta hoon
Ananya…bahot…I'm sorry ki meri wajah se aaj tumhara yeh haal hai…mujhe maaf
kardena please…
…Tumhara Kabir”
Finally Ananya cried, she cried vigorously.
Her emotions came back to life, he was helpless too. He hadn’t betrayed her,
his hands were tied. He had to protect so many people. Anurag became a victim
of this case as well. Kabir had seen so much in life yet he strong enough to
fight all odds and protect everyone.
“Ananya humare paas waqt nahin hai!” Tarini
said.
“Kya matlab?” Ananya said wiping her tears.
Tarini sighed deeply, gulping “Kabir sab kuch
chor kar chala gaya hai!”
“KYA!?!” Ananya screamed.
“Jaldi chalo!” Tarini said taking her hand.
They were outside Kabir’s house investigating all ther neighbors if they had
seen Kabir going anywhere and one old lady finally said she saw Kabir walking
aimlessly ad almost getting hit by a car but there was a minor accident and
Kabir was hurt but he refused all help and he boarded a bus going towards right
hand side of the road. The lady said it was the first time she had seen Kabir
so vulnerable, he was fumbling for money for bus fare and a man had volunteered
to pay for him seeing his state. They thanked the woman and stood thinking
where could have Kabir gone to.
“Kabir apna sab kuch chor kar chala
gaya…unhone mujhse kaha tha ek baar koi insaan aisa tabhi karta hai jab who
jeene ki ummed chor deta hai…” Ananya said confused, wiping off her tears.
“Oh shit!” said Tarini, “Wo jis bus mein
baitha hai who right taraf gayi aur wahan sirf ek gaon hai jahan par suicide
point hai! Bahot uncha cliff hai!!!” and they both panicked. “Car chalani aati
hai?” Tarini asked Ananya.
“Haan!”
“Jaldi aao mere saath!” she said taking
Ananya’s hand and ran into Kabir’s house, “Yeh lo Kabir ki gaadi ki chaabi,
paise aur yeh uska ek pair change…jaldi rakho..suno who gaon yahan se teen
ghante door hai agar bus mein jaaye toh..aur car se jaaein toh ek ghanta door
hai..tum gaadi lekar jaogi toh Kabir se ehle wahan pahonch jaaogi…magar bahut
dangerous hai wahan se lautna raat ko….sadak bahot kharab hai…jaate waqt bhi
apna khayal rakhna..theek hai?” Tarini quickly hugged Ananya.
“Aap nahin chalegi?” Ananya asked.
“Main Anurag ko akele nahi chor sakti aur
phir Kabir ko sirf tumhari zarurat hai…ab jaldi jao!”
Ananya quickly started the car and almost
flew with the car, not caring about the speed limit or anything else. She had
hurt Kabir a lot by not trusting him.
“Koi kisise se itna pyaar kar sakta hai ki
unke liye apni jaan dede?” beamed the radio and Ananya gulped, if she didn’t make
it on time then she would lose Kabir forever. Panic was rising and her heart
was thudding in her chest and she was constantly praying to god to keep her
Kabir safe and sound.
By the time she reached the cliff it had
started raining heavily and the night had begun. Ananya ran as quickly as she
could and in the nick of time she held the hand of Kabir who had put one foot
in the air…
He turned around shocked to see Ananya
holding his hand. She pulled him into a tight bone crashing hug. “Dobara aisa
kabhi! Kabhi! Kabhi mat sochna!!!” she said crying, her heart almost stopped
when she saw he almost jumped, just one nano-second late and he would have lost
him forever.
“Ananya!” he said coming out of his trance.
“Haan aapki Ananya!” she said placing
buttferfly kisses all over his face. Her kisses were more passionate than the
heavy rain! After moments of contentment that they both were together safe and
sound, Ananya realized they really could not go back home at this time.
“Chaliye mere saath!” she said taking his
hand, leading him to the car. They stopped at a nearby cottage near the cliff.
“Ek room book karna hai…” Ananya told the
receptionist.
“Naam madam..” he asked.
“Mr. and Mrs. Kabir Sharma.” She replied
happily.
Kabir still looked a little hazed, not really
coming back to reality. The state that he had seen Ananya in had shaken him to
the core. That image was not leaving his eyes. He had caused that pain to her
and he was not able to forgive himself for that. He followed Ananya to the room
and sat quietly on a chair.
“Yeh lijiya change karlijiye…” Ananya said
chirpily as she handed him the clothes that thankfully Tarini had asked her to
keep. Kabir looked up at her and smiled a bit and went in quietly but she could
see the state of his mind was really imbalanced, she had to bring him back and
make him forget all that happened, they had to start afresh!
When Kabir came out, she looked at him and
went in trance for a few seconds, his almost wet hair, turquoise blue shirt was
looking elegant on him. She couldn’t help but check him out for a few seconds
before wincing as she saw a few wounds on his forehead and elbow because of the
minor accident that had happened outside his house.
“Hello Room Service?” Ananya spoke on the
phone, “Room number 231 ka first aid box cabinet locked hai…kya matlab chaabi
kho gayi…jaldi kholiye warna main glass todke kit nikaal loongi!” the sherni
roared in the phone.
“Jab tak who log chaabi laa rahe hain main
change kar ke aati hoon…”Ananya told Kabir trying to sound as casual as
possible. She bit her finger between her lips trying to figure out what to
wear. Thankfully she found a black silk robe in the cupboard.
By the time Ananya returned after changing,
the staff had placed a first-aid kit on the table and left. If Kabir was in the
right frame of mind he would have eaten Ananya alive or died from heart attack
because she looked absolutely hot in the black silk robe which was way above
her knees, wet hair and face free of make-up, she looked absolute divine.
Seeing Kabir lost Ananya realized one thing,
they had had enough of emotional assurance with each other and this time it was
not going to work. What they had gone through in the five days was much deeper
and this time they needed a physical assurance of togetherness. Kabir was still
feeling guilty for making her so lifeless and she was feeling guilty of making
him giving up on life, both of them had escaped the absolute horror of
life-death.
She went to Kabir slowly, “Aap ke chot par antiseptic
lagana hai…” Ananya said sweetly, making Kabir look up. He smiled and nodded
positively, expecting her to sit beside him but he was shocked when she sat on
his lap instead. She took the cream on one finger and applied it on his
forehead slowly blowing the area when he winced in pain. She seductively
applied the cream to all wounded areas and gave extra care to his face. Their faces
were inches apart, she slowly kissed his cheeks, his forehead, and his chin and
at last his quivering lips.
After a while of passionate kissing Kabir
realized what they were doing, he broke the kiss and moved her from his lap. “Yeh
galat hai…” saying this went and stood near the window, looking outside.
Ananya came and turned him around, “Jise man
se pati maan liya ho, use tan se pati maanne mein kya galat hai?” she asked him
softly.
Kabir was touched by her words. She led him
to the bed and slowly pushed him on it, coming on top of him she began kissing
him. Kabir couldn’t keep himself contained in the cage of the recent past
events and gave into the passion. He rolled and came on top of Ananya, placing
open mouth kisses all over her neck. He moved her gown a bit and started
kissing on her shoulder while Ananya buried her hand in his hair, her eyes
closed with pleasure. Kabir opened the belt of her gown and his hand traveled
inside her gown, feeling her washboard stomach. She is so soft, he thought.
Something in him stopped him again and he sat
up, “Kya hua?” Ananya asked sitting up beside him, tying her belt, she hugged
him from side.
“Abhi humaari shaadi nahi hui hai…” Kabir
said worriedly. “Agar tumapna faisla badlogi.. mein nahin chahta ki tum meri
wajah se pachtao…”
“Shhh!” Ananya said placing her finger on his
lips. “Kuch galat nahi ho raha hai. Teen din baad humari shaadi hai… Jo bhi hua
galat hua…ek miscommunication tha…ek bura sapna tha..humaare future ke liye
lessons sikha gaya…who waqt galat tha…hum galat nahi the ek dusre ke liye..aap
mere liye sahi ho aur main aap ke liye…jo kuch hua hum use badal nahi sakte
magar usse seekh sakte hain…ek dusre ke liye behtar insaan ban sakte hain..main
sirf aapki hoon…sirf aapki…”she told him kissing the tip of nose lightly.
“Ananya I love you so much!!” Kabir said
turning around capturing her soft petal lips in his manly lips as he came on
top of her again and then just passion sprang across the room as two beautiful
soul-mates united that night…
Kabir and Ananya looked outside the French windows
of their room as the rose pink light of dawn came across the sky and the hills
were covered with snow. The wooden cottage hotel in the hills was so perfectly romantic
as they lay they wrapped in each other’s arms comfortably with only black
sheets covering them…
“Kitna khoobsurat hai na?” Ananya said still looking
outside.
“Hai toh… par tumse zyada nahin…” Kabir told
her kissing her hair as finally they both slowly drifted off in a much deserved
peaceful sleep, dreaming of their beautiful future, together…
